It is no secret that we are can-lovers at the Lounge, so when we heard our friends at Dogfish Head were releasing 60 Minute IPA in a can we knew an event was in our future.

Dogfish Head was one of my first introductions to American craft beer. Back when I was slumming it in Hell's Kitchen behind the stick of a local lounge, a fellow bartender handed me a bottle of Raison D'Etre and forever changed my life. Ok, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but it was freeking awesome! Sam Calagione has long been known as one of the men who paved the way not just for for the craft beer movement, but who continually pushed the limits of how beer could be made. 60 minute IPA may seem like old hat these days compared to the variety of IPA styles that have taken over the industry, but at it's inception it was truly revolutionary. Today, Sam and his crew at Dogfish Head continue to push the envelope and open all of our minds and palettes to experiences we never knew we would want and love.

Come down to celebrate the release of 60 Minute IPA and Flesh & Blood in cans! We'll also be pouring Beer for Breakfast and 90 Minute IPA on draught for those who want to start off their day with a bit more of a kick.

Chef Jeff Maslanka will be working some of his breakfast magic that I am told involves scrapple, a local Delaware hangover cure. Perhaps it is preventative as well.

See you there!
